Assessment under the CBSE Curriculum at Green Gables International School
Green Gables International School offers the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) curriculum, which is one of the most preferred curricula in India. It encourages continuous and comprehensive evaluation with a special emphasis on the holistic development of all learners. This curriculum is special as its syllabus and examination patterns have continually undergone revisions to adapt to dynamic educational requirements as well as learners’ individual needs.
As prescribed by the CBSE Board, our school has designed an assessment framework for each grade. This framework is a description and discussion about what an assessment intends to measure and what the implications of its results are. The focus of assessment is to gather and analyze evidence to determine each student’s learning needs. Teachers and students are thereby provided with the opportunity to collaborate in the design of assessment tasks, because while teachers design the assessment framework, students provide valuable insights through their academic and co-curricular performance. Our school prescribes both annual lesson plans and fortnightly lessons plans to ensure that the syllabus for each grade and subject is covered in a systematic manner.
At our school, each academic year is divided into two terms and there are two kinds of assessments: formative and summative. While formative assessments track students’ performance throughout the year, summative assessments are the examinations conducted at the end of each term. The CBSE Board conducts the final examinations for Grades 10 and 12 every year, generally in the month of March.
Our school campus is located at just a ten-minute drive from Wipro Circle Junction, Gachibowli in Hyderabad. We are in the vicinity of Financial District, Kokapet, Kollur, Gopanapally and Tellapur.
