1. What curriculum does Green Gables International School offer?

We offer a multi-faceted curriculum composed of both the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) curricula. We offer students a choice, prior to the commencement of Grade 9, to formally opt for the CBSE board examination or the Cambridge IGCSE assessment.

Our school is a 20-year old institution whose success is measured by the accomplishments of its students. We have small class sizes that are limited to twenty-five students, which enables one-on-one interaction between teachers and students. 8. Does the school have a uniform?

The school has a regular uniform and a sports uniform. The uniforms have been designed keeping in mind the comfort of the students. Parents can get in touch with the school office, which will coordinate with the supplier to ensure that each student is provided with well-fitting uniform sets.

9. What does a student’s day typically look like?

As mentioned above, the students’ school day commences at 8:15 a.m. The day begins with the assembly, followed by breakfast. Thereafter, classes begin. A unique feature of our school is its classrooms, which have been designed as subject rooms. Each grade freely circulates within their designated subject room zones; this is to ensure that students are exposed to a customised environment for each subject. This also instills a healthy respect for time management and cooperation among students. Furthermore, our students’ academic activities seamlessly blend with co-curricular activities, such as sports and arts and crafts. We also ensure that our students get ample time in the common rooms, including the music room and library, in accordance with their respective timetables. After their morning session of classes, the students break for lunch. The students’ day ends with the completion of their afternoon session of classes.

We are conveniently located on the Outer Ring Road (ORR) service road. Please note that we are located at a distance of approximately only 3-4 kilometres from Kollur, 7-9 kilometres from Gopanpally and Tellapur, and 9-11 kilometres from Gachibowli, Kokapet and Nanakramguda.

11. How experienced are your teachers and staff?

We curate our teachers and staff with utmost care by checking their qualifications and ensuring that their subject-area knowledge is thorough. Further, you will be pleased note that several teachers have been associated with the school for over 15 years. We also conduct regular teacher-training sessions to ensure that each member of the teaching staff is updated with modern methods of classroom training.

12. What kind of facilities are available to students?

We are providing state-of-the-art infrastructure to the students, in keeping with the guidelines and recommendations of the Cambridge Board. Our classrooms are very ambient and all of them have lush open views. We have created dedicated play zones for the kindergarten and primary sections. In addition to this, we also have a football field replete with a FIFA approved turf and a basketball court. Our computer laboratory is equipped with a high-speed broadband internet connection and updated systems, and our well-equipped science laboratory meets all safety requirements prescribed by the Cambridge Board. We have designed a well-lit and colourful arts and crafts studio, a well-appointed music studio and a beautiful library housing over a thousand titles. We have also designed a state-of-the-art, centrally air-conditioned theatre and performing arts studio with a double height ceiling, which is equipped with a sound-proof stage, high-end projectors, speakers and lighting.

13. Does the school provide transport?

Our school offers transport services, which may be availed at the option of the parents. Requests for the bus service are handled on a case-by-case basis. Please contact the school office for further details.

14. Does the school offer a lunch programme?

Our food package includes a nutritious breakfast and lunch, which are prepared in the school kitchen. We have a modern, well-equipped kitchen and spacious dining areas for our junior and senior students.

15. What sports are taught at the school?

As mentioned above, we offer dedicated play zones for our younger students as well as a football ground and basketball court. In addition to this, our teaching staff includes a sports teacher who specializes in calisthenics and yoga. We also offer taekwondo lessons.

16. What are the other activities offered by the school?

17. Does the school take students on excursions?

Students are taken on excursions to enhance their learning experience. We organise trips to organic farms, museums, historical monuments and parks. Further, we plan an annual excursion, which can be availed by a limited number of students. In view of the COVID-19 pandemic, this excursion is subject to concerns of safety and feasibility.

18. Is parent involvement encouraged at your school?

We actively encourage parents to be involved and bolster their children’s learning process. We believe that the school and parents function together as a team for the betterment of the students. We welcome feedback and suggestions and attempt to address them promptly and to the best of our abilities. We conduct regular parent-teacher meetings to apprise parents of the progress of their children and take note of any concerns they may have. In the event that any parent wants to request a meeting, our office manager and coordinator of the concerned block will arrange the same at a mutually convenient date and time.

19. How safe is your school campus?

The school building is situated in a 4-acre campus complete with an internal road and boundary walls. We have security guards monitoring the school during day hours and night hours. In addition to this, we have installed a CCTV surveillance system to ensure the safety of the students and the staff.

20. What medical facilities does the school have?

We have a sick bay for students to recuperate from minor injuries or illnesses. It is equipped with basic medication and first aid. In cases which require further attention, the parent or guardian will be duly informed so that they can pick their child up from the school. Please note that Continental Hospital, a renowned multispecialty hospital, is located at a short distance from the school. In the event that it is required, the school can arrange for the student to be taken there with a responsible staff member.

21. What is the admission process at your school?

Please get in touch with our admissions counsellor, Ms. Aarti Ramprasad (+91 94400 30773), to be taken on a guided tour of the school campus. Parents located outside Hyderabad may make an online admission enquiry and will receive further counselling via phone calls and emails. All parents are required to fill in an application form. The list of documents required to be submitted by the parents will be specified be our admissions counsellor during the admission process. In this regard, please note that the age guidelines for admission are in accordance with CBSE and Cambridge norms. For instance, the age group for admission into Grade 1 is 5.5 years to 6.5 years. The criteria for admission into a certain grade are the combination of age, previous educational records and assessment at the time of admission. We accept admissions through the year.
