Green Gables International School has been designed to allow children to feel space everywhere. It has state of the art infrastructure in keeping with the guidelines and recommendations of the Cambridge Board. We provide engaging and ambient classrooms which have lush open views and we offer dedicated zones and play areas for the kindergarten and primary sections, in addition to a large ground which features a football ground, a basketball court, free play zones and a lot of space for circulation. All the areas in the school have been designed in a child friendly manner.
Library
Our school has a well-appointed library. The library is a place for investigation, study and enjoyment. Our students are able to gain confidence as explorers of literature, get exposed to different genres, expand their horizons and world view, hone their imagination, find joy in the enrichment of reading and build information skills as well-versed finders, users and creators of information. The library houses numerous titles enriched with comprehensive collections of age appropriate materials that support the varied interests and abilities of students.
Science Laboratory
Our school houses an excellent science laboratory which is equipped with the latest equipment, anatomy models, physics kits, chemistry kits and advanced child-friendly materials from Butterfly Fields. In order for science to be made stimulating for the students, we combine activity-based classroom learning with exciting and well-supervised laboratory experiments. We have also ensured adherence to all the safety norms prescribed by the Cambridge Board, including the provision of safety glasses, storage of chemicals and separate wash and shower areas.
Computer Laboratory
Our school has a computer laboratory with advanced infrastructure in terms of hardware and software which cater to all requirements of the students. Our school is equipped with a dedicated high speed broadband internet connection which allows for the students to do comprehensive research for their projects and presentations, along with the guidance of their teacher. A continuous effort is made to see that the students gain expertise in the practical implementation of the tools they have in their curriculum.
Music Studio
Our fully equipped music studio provides the perfect setting for children to develop their musical talents. Students have access to a wide variety of instruments and equipment and are also welcome to bring their own instruments to practice. Our repertoire is varied and children are trained extensively in vocals in genres including folk, pop, rock and broadway.
Theatre and Performing Arts Studio
Our school houses a state-of-the-art, centrally air conditioned theatre and performing arts studio with a double-height ceiling. We are proud to say that this is where most of our best work happens! It is truly a multi-purpose room wherein we train our children extensively in Theatre, the result of which is seen on our Annual Day function in the form of a large scale professional play with live performances supported by a live choir. We also conduct our club activities, class concerts, dance classes, recommended movie sessions, quizzes, elocutions and debates here. The studio is equipped with a sound proof stage, high-end projectors, speakers and stage lighting.
Arts and Crafts Studio
Our Arts and Crafts studio is a vibrant place full of colour and creativity. Our students are aware that art is the best form of self-expression and showcase their ideas with skill and ingenuity. The children explore different facets of painting through lower and middle school and we encourage them to specialize in high school. Acrylic glass paintings, soft paints on canvas, pastels to study shades of colour, monochrome drawings, charcoal drawings and chalk-piece sculptures constitute a major part of the work taught here.
Sports Facilities and Play Areas
Our school has well-designed outdoor play areas. It is equipped with a football field, a basketball court and dedicated areas which may be used for throwball and volleyball. The children are also taught various team-building exercises. We strive to teach children valuable lessons about trust, patience, teamwork and following the rules of the game. Kindergarten and primary students also have cozy environments with their own separate spaces and outdoor play zones. The play spaces ensure positive interaction and socialisation of children with their peers.
Gymnastics Studio
The gymnastics studio is designed in such a manner that aspiring gymnasts of all ages and abilities can embark on a journey of grace and strength together. It is a large space containing state-of-the-art equipment including safety and crush mats, parallel bars, balancing beams, a vaulting table, an air barrel, a trampoline and wall bars. With a strong emphasis on technique, form and safety, children are encouraged to embrace both the physical and mental aspects of artistic gymnastics. Gymnastics training commences in Upper Kindergarten and continues till the end of Grade 10.
Football Field
The school’s football field is a turf court replete with a 50 mm FIFA-approved synthetic turf. It is a stage for countless unforgettable matches, both friendly and competitive, where students can showcase their skills and sportsmanship. Unlike natural grass, turf courts provide a consistent playing surface. The cushioning and shock-absorption features of the turf help reduce the risk of injuries, thereby making it safer and more fun for children of all ages to use on a daily basis.
Basketball Court
The school’s basketball court has been specially designed for young players and is replete with a Laykold surface. The demanding nature of basketball requires players to enhance their stamina, agility, and endurance, contributing to overall physical fitness. The school opted for a Laykold surface as it features an advanced shock absorption system that offers excellent cushioning and support, thereby minimizing the impact on joints, preventing serious injuries, and facilitating a more comfortable and safe playing experience.
Play Equipment
Playgrounds have been a haven for lasting childhood memories for generations, providing children with a place to have fun while developing physical and social skills. Keeping in mind children’s safety as a paramount concern, the school has opted for high-end LLDPE play equipment in the kindergarten and primary play zones of the school. The equipment’s smooth and rounded edges and non-abrasive and non-toxic surfaces go a long way in making it a safe and enjoyable experience for children. The kindergarten and primary play equipment have been specially designed keeping in mind their respective age groups.
